Can you see it, the light at the end of the tunnel? After what many say feels like an eternity, the stay at home order restriction is beginning to lift. The question everyone wants to know though is, how will the pandemic of the past few months affect business procedures in the future? Is your business planning on re-opening soon, certain precautionary actions will continue to be implemented to provide safety for employees and customers alike?
PREPARATION TACTICS
One of the biggest reasons that COVID-19 and diseases like it can spread so quickly is due to the long incubation period or asymptomatic effects. The CDC has listed ways to help slow and contain the spread of diseases. To follow these guidelines and begin planning how to open back up, you’ll need safety signs around your store. We have safety sign solutions for you, available in various sizes and materials.
1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick, if you must be around them, limit your exposure time with them.
While everyone knows that a minimum of a 6-foot distance is essential now more than ever, do they understand what 6-feet is? We offer 15-inch Round Vinyl Floor Signs that can be placed on the floor to provide customers with safe places to stand. We also provide vertical and horizontal wall safety signs in different sizes and material options so that they can be placed wherever necessary.
2. Do not touch eyes, nose, and mouth; they are the fastest ways for germs to get inside the body. Having good hygiene, along with not touching your face, will help.
3. If you need to cough or sneeze, use a clean tissue that can be thrown into the trash after if possible. Make sure always to cover your nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing to protect yourself and others.
Many stores are requiring individuals to wear masks or a form of face coverings. If you need to inform your clientele of such requirements, we have two signs to choose from. One sign mentions that masks are required to enter, and the other one says to wear a mask if experiencing flu like symptoms.
4. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces often. Germs can live on those surfaces for different durations of time, ranging from hours to days.
a. Frequently touched surfaces include phones, remote controls, door handles, bathroom fixtures, counters, tables, and others.
Since people use their hands to do various tasks all day long, it can be hard to remember what surfaces have been touched and when. To protect everyone, we offer two sign options asking people to use hand sanitizer before entering.
5. Wash your hands often. Using soap and water for at least 20 seconds helps wash away the germs that may have been picked up when touching something.
a. Only use hand sanitizer, when washing your hands with soap and water is not possible.
This is the number one way to slow the spread of COVID-19 and diseases alike. We have four different signs available that require employees to wash hands before returning to work.
6. If you do find yourself sick, stay at home and away from others. This will help contain the disease and prevent it from being spread.
There are a few other safety signs available such as ‘wait here for assistance,’ ‘stand here,’ do not stand here,’ and ‘help prevent the spread of COVID-19’.
As your business begins to open back up and more customers re-enter your store, safety signs will help to ensure that your re-opening goes smoothly and is successful. Check out all the signs we have to offer on our website under the Signage tab then Safety Signs.
